WHOA, has it really been several months since I've posted?!?
That's a crazy hectic summer for you. Been so busy having fun and making wonderful memories with my quickly growing kiddos that my craft room has fallen eerie and silent (and probably covered in spider webs by now)! But wait, fall to the rescue! Getting darker earlier, more rainy days, kids in bed earlier mean one thing...CRAFT TIME for mommy!!! Time to get caught up scrapping all of those wonderful summer memories.
The project I'm posting today was a spur of the moment project that I did last week when I wanted to try a technique on canvas. The tote was bought years ago (probably at Joann's) and I pulled it out with no thoughts of what to make it into when I saw my Halloween stamps scattered on the floor of my craft space from another project that I'll be posting soon and thought Trick or Treat bag for my daughter! It really was more of an experiment than anything, trying different inks and paints out on the fabric but it came together quickly and she loves it (high pitched toddler voice over and over excitedly HALLOWEEN MOMMY, HALLOWEEN!!!)
I used a combination of VersaCraft ink, acryllic paints and permanent fabric markers for the rubber stamps. Let it dry then heat set with an iron. The trick or treat stamp is from Too Much Fun Rubberstamps, the witch is Penny Black, the Happy Halloween is from Stampendous and the jackolantern and cat are from Tattered Angels. I used Steam-A-Seam and an iron to adhere the ribbon and hot glued on a spider to cover where the ribbon came together. Came together quickly while the kids napped and I know Miss Jasmine will be proud to carry it around on Halloween for her treats!
Here are some close-ups.
Sorry to be so absent from the blogging scene for so long, lots of catching up to do on all my talented blogging friends awesome projects!
