For my first project I wanted to showcase one of the beautiful sentiments from the newest Kit of the Month, Happiness Looks Gorgeous.
I wanted the sentiment to stand out and I was inspired by Swarups beautiful watercoloring to try to stamp a beautiful flower border around the sentiment. Now the bouquet I used is actually the "hair" from the Let Your Inner Beauty Shine set. It had just the right sized flowers for what I wanted so I just inked up the top portion of the stamp with some Distress Markers in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mowed Lawn. I spritzed it with water and after re-coloring the stamp each time around the card I took a paintbrush and moved some of the color around to make it look painted.
I colored in a few bits of the sentiment, used a glitter gel pen on the stars, inked the edges with charcoal ink and popped it up on white cardstock.

Thank you for the great details on how you created the card. I think it's beautiful! I enjoy seeing new, for me, techniques and you have shown me how to do ones that I'm capable of doing but I never think to put together in one card.

Great creative use of the stamps and so pretty! Love how you colored in the sentiment for such a playful feel!
I love that you "repurposed" the hair of a totally different type of stamp and how you did it. Gorgeous!!
Beautiful card. The "hair" border is amazing! Your vision of looking beyond a stamps use is not seen often!
Just Wow! Perfect use for the "hair" Thanks for the idea.
Awesome details & explainations of technique. The idea to use a partial part of a stamp, will have me looking at all my stamps, with a more creative eye. In this case, the sum isn't necessarily equal to it's parts. ;) Thanks!
So pretty - love the border.
