What's Up?

I created this card for the Unity KOM Sketch challenge and then forgot to use Kit of the Month stamps on it, Oopsie!  Oh well, guess I'll try again tonight and use the right stamps this time!
Supplies used:  Echo Park Happy Days PP, Unity stamps: Neopolitan Bisque Soup (phone, word bubble & what's up), Nov 2011 SMAK (old fashion phone dial)

Snapshots of a Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup kind of day.

This past Saturday my daughter and I walked to the park to play early in the morning when it was still only 20 some degrees with cold winds blowing.  Needless to say we were quite chilled for some time and even hot chocolate and cuddling watching The Little Mermaid didn't do the trick to warm us up.  Yep, it's a Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup kind of day!

I love when I come across great boy papers and this one is from Echo Park's This and That Charming collection.  Great colors and designs in that pack!  I am not much of a 2 page layout kind of girl but sometimes you just need a lot of pics to tell the story and thankfully this one came together quickly (2 page LO's have been known to clutter up my craft desk for weeks at a time)!
Supplies:
Echo Park patterned papers, journaling block and blue alpha stickers.  Sassafras Lass chipboard alphas.  Basic Grey orange letter stickers.  Cosmo Cricket cream alpha stickers.  Stamps are all Unity Stamp Co.  Camera & snapshot from Snapshot Itty Bitty.  A Moment in Time from Unity/Ippity's set of the same name.  Soup bowls from the retired August 2008 Kit of the Month.  Soup pot from the July 2011 KOM.  Noteworthy (hidden on the top of the journaling block) is from Sweet and Sour Soup.
I was SO excited to finally find a use for this soup bowl stamp!!!  I LOVE inking up never before inked up stamps and finding the perfect home on a project for them!  Head on over to Unity's blog to play along with Friends with Flair and comment for a chance to win some wonderful stamps from Unity!

What, it's Friday already!?!

Gosh, Friday really snuck up on me this week.  I've got so many fun projects in the works but we haven't had any sun here all week and taking a good photo in this dreary light is a lost cause.
However, I have a card here that got passed up for submission last month and I forgot to post it so here it is!
This was the first time I have ever submitted and I think I submitted 6 cards total, none got picked but it's a learning process and I will just keep trying!
Supplies used:
Unity Stamp Co: Hey Stud Itty Bitty
Echo Park Happy Days PP
Marvy brush markers
Other:  Brads, corner rounder, adhesive foam, paper distresser

Lots of excitement going on over at the Unity Stamp Co blog right now!!!  Check out all of the awesome new releases and all of the other amazingly talented crafters and their creations this week here!

2012 Memory Jar

Happy Friday, happy Friends with Flair and HAPPY 2012!!!  To see all of the other awesome Unity FWF creations stop by Unity's blog and hop along.  Remember to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some stamps!  For all of you Unity peeps out there I have a great little project for today to kick off 2012.
In September I came across a great idea that I implemented immediately. It was a Memory Jar. We started writing little things from the everyday (funny, silly, sweet, cute, happy) moments of our day that might otherwise be forgotten. The idea was to pull the jar out on NYE and reflect and reminisce on the previous year. We had a really busy NYE but pulled the jar out a couple of days later and had a great time reading through our memories from the past few months over breakfast!
I had plans to make a cute decorated jar for our memories but didn't get around to it until yesterday.  Before that we were just throwing them in an empty tin.  Whatever works right.  I have to say though that I like this jar MUCH better!

I got the jar at Hobby Lobby (it was $5 and on sale for 50% off so I only paid $2.50 for it)!  The patterned papers I used are all My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the Happy Memories stamp over and over across the blue PP.  Love that stamp from the Nov 2011 SMAK kit!  I used a Fiskars punch to punch a border from the rainbow PP.  Some random green velvet ribbon finished off the main part of the jar.  I stamped the jar from the Dec 2011 KOM onto script PP (using this was a no brainer since the jar will be filled with written memories).  I cut a small strip of rainbow PP to put over the jar stamp and popped the Filled with Love up from that and attached it to the lid with twine and a jump ring.  The lid also has a Unity stamp on there.  It's a cute Itty Bitty from Bella Blvd called Tell Me More.  I used little alpha stickers from Echo Park on the quote stamp and popped it up from the lid and Mod Podged it.  I wrapped some ribbon and twine around the lid and added a punched flower and a button and used that to attach the jar that hangs from the lid.
With 2 young children and with as little sleep as I get I LOVE having this jar to toss a little note in with little memories/moments from the day that would otherwise be forgotten.  My 2 1/2 year old daughter says some of the silliest things that I would surely forget if not for writing them down.  My 9 1/2 month son so silly and sweet and is always making these cute little gestures that I never want to forget.  It is SO AMAZING to have a jar of memories from the little moments that would have otherwise been lost and forgotten in the chaos of everyday life!  I am reminded of a quote that says that "it is the little things that make life big" and I find that to be absolutely true.  Precious, happy, silly, sweet, amazing memories!

Love is the thread

A quick card I threw together tonight using Unity's December 2011 Kit of the Month for their KOM sketch challenge.  I got a little liberal with the sketch this month but I love how the card turned out!
Here is the sketch:

The patterned papers are from Echo Park's For the Record and I used red embossing powder for the images and sentiment.  The label is a spellbinders die cut.  I distressed the edges of the PP as well.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Hope everyone's New Year is off to a fantastic start!

Bewitching

Ah, it's Friday...or I should say FINALLY Friday!  And that means it's time for another fun Friends With Flair from my favorite stamp company of all time, Unity Stamps!  Check out all of the great projects that Unity lovers have inked up this week!
I love this photo of my daughter around Halloween last year, what a little sweetie she was!  A good photo of her this Halloween will be nearly impossible to come by as she throws a tantrum when she sees the camera.  Oh, the Terrible Twos...they pass right!?!
It's been dark and dreary here for days so it was tough to get a good pic of the LO, there's a horrible glare shining off the photo.
Here are a few more detailed shots.
I stamped a lot on this layout.  The cobweb is from Tattered Angels, the spiders are Martha Stewart.  Beware of witching hour and Under your Spell are from Unity Stamp Co.  The witch is from Inkadinkado.  I stamped her on transparency because I wanted her facing left instead of right.  The embellies are old Jolee's and new Authentique.  The title was cut with the Cricut Happy Hauntings cart and layered on orange silk ribbon.  The patterned papers are from Authentique and Echo Park.
Happy Friday and wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

Thanks a Bunch

I made this card last night for a couple of challenges.  The first is going on over at Cricut 360.  The challenge was to make a thank you circle card using any cricut cartridge.  The second challenge is going on over at More Than Favors and that was to use the Wild Card Cartridge.  How perfect since that was just the cartridge I had in mind for the circle card!!!  It has the cutest circle doily card on it.  I cut it at 5 1/2".  I then cut the circle at 5".  The cute watering can flower pot is from Kate's ABC's and cut at 4 1/2".  The patterned paper is Echo Park's For the Record.  The cute frog stamp is from Hero Arts.
I finished it off with some doodling, water droplets, a button and baker's twine.  The little frog is popped up with some dimensional tape.

Friday = Friends with Flair!!

I actually made a card more than a month out from the occasion instead of waiting til the last minute!!!  Actually I made this for my hubby and our anniversary isn't until August 25th so I'm 2 months early!

The patterned paper is Echo Park and Graphic 45.  The tags are Tim Holtz.  I love this cute Itty Bitty stamp from Unity!  Thanks for stopping by!

Melmac Anniversary Couple

My in-laws are celebrating their (42nd?) anniversary tomorrow and I put this card together for them last night/today.  When I was trying to come up with a design last night I came across this paper from October Afternoon of the vintage couple and I knew I wanted to do a card around that.  I have seen a few cards lately using this image for a wedding card but I thought it'd be funny to use as an anniversary card especially since my MIL & FIL were married back when Melmac was still popular!  I have also been loving this floral paper from Echo Park and once I decided upon that it sort of all came together nicely (don't you just love it when that happens)!   The finished card is 6x6.

Happy to know you

Here is a card I made using my Unity May Kit of the Month.  It arrived 2 days ago and I didn't have time to play with it A.S.A.P. because I was working on my daughter's birthday invites but as soon as they were done I was eager to play with my newest stamps and this is what transpired!  I used the KOM Sketch so that I could enter it into the challenge (also quicker to make when working with a sketch).  Thanks for looking!

It's Friday!!!

Plus we're spending all weekend with family so I'm really feeling the love today!  Here is a layout I made with the help of Archiver's for National Scrapbook Day last week.  Of course I had to personalize it, so I used some wonderful Tim Holtz tickets in the photo strip and used a Unity journaling stamp from a recent Kit of the Month.  The butterfly stamp is actually from Unity as well.  Papers are Echo Park.  Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful weekend!
