For my first project I wanted to showcase one of the beautiful sentiments from the newest Kit of the Month, Happiness Looks Gorgeous.
I wanted the sentiment to stand out and I was inspired by Swarups beautiful watercoloring to try to stamp a beautiful flower border around the sentiment. Now the bouquet I used is actually the "hair" from the Let Your Inner Beauty Shine set. It had just the right sized flowers for what I wanted so I just inked up the top portion of the stamp with some Distress Markers in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Mowed Lawn. I spritzed it with water and after re-coloring the stamp each time around the card I took a paintbrush and moved some of the color around to make it look painted.
I colored in a few bits of the sentiment, used a glitter gel pen on the stars, inked the edges with charcoal ink and popped it up on white cardstock.

DeleteAwesome details & explainations of technique. The idea to use a partial part of a stamp, will have me looking at all my stamps, with a more creative eye. In this case, the sum isn't necessarily equal to it's parts. ;) Thanks!
